Ballet Teaching Philosophy
With over 20 years of experience as a ballet teacher trained in the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) method, I am committed to providing students with a strong, structured foundation in classical technique. I believe in the discipline, beauty, and clarity that ballet offers, and my teaching is rooted in the belief that proper technique empowers artistic freedom.
I work with students aged 9 to 19 —a pivotal stage in both technical development and personal growth. My goal is to guide them with consistency, care, and high expectations, helping them build strength, precision, musicality, and confidence in their movement. I emphasize clean lines, safe progression, and respect for the classical form while encouraging each student to find their own expression within it.
In my classes, I strive to create a space that is focused and supportive—where hard work is balanced with encouragement, and every dancer is seen as both an athlete and an artist. I believe in teaching the “why” behind the “how,” so students not only improve but also understand their own bodies and develop a deeper connection to the art form.
Creating a positive, focused teaching environment is at the heart of my practice. I aim to foster a studio culture where discipline and mutual respect are balanced with encouragement, curiosity, and joy. I believe students learn best when they feel supported, challenged, and safe to take risks. I nurture a space where mistakes are viewed as opportunities for growth, where effort is recognized, and where every dancer—regardless of level—is valued for their commitment.
Above all, I hope to inspire a lifelong appreciation for ballet, whether my students pursue it professionally or carry its lessons into other parts of their lives.
